Home-schooling is fun and gives me plenty of time to spend with my family and do creative things that interest me.
Here are my opinions, tips and reasons for home-schooling.
I like home-schooling because:
1. I have much more time to do what I want: wood crafting, electronics projects, etc; playing games with my family (card games, ping pong, etc); and making a business project with my Dad!
2. I don't have to hurry so early to school like I usually did.
3. My family and I are more connected by home-schooling and I have more time to be with my brother Tim.
4. I can travel to different places because home-schooling can be done everywhere at any time - this way we can also avoid travelling during busy holidays.
1. Go for a walk each day to get some fresh air and exersize so you stay healthy and fit.
2. Have a day off at least once a week and use it on your favourite and fun activities.
3. Follow a schedule - it helps you be organised and productive. The best schedule for me is 4.5 hours a day of learning, six days a week.
I used to live in Chile, Slovenia and Thailand and go to regular schools.
I was there from early morning to late afternoon and came home exhausted.
Then one day, it was decided by my parents, brother and I to go on a journey around the world. It was practical to home-school on the way.
Our first stop was New Zealand, but, when we arrived we got stuck in the country due to Covid-19.
We loved it there so we decided to stay - instead of a two-month trip in New Zealand, we ended up staying there for one and a half years! So, we were are not travelling around the world, but around the country!
I finished my math lessons earlier, hence my Dad (who is a programmer) and I started making a course which will teach children how to make websites.
It is called: "htmlplanetforkids.com"
We thought it would take us a month to finish it, but it took us a year! Now it is done and I am very excited to see how it will go from here!
(I used our program to make this website)
I recommend home-schooling only if you take your time - if you rush or not focus it will be unsuccessful.
It will probably be hard at the beginning but you shouldn't give up. For us, it was hard at the start but then we got used to it.
Some children may need friends so regular school may be better for them, but I have my brother Tim who is my best friend.
My favourite things about home-schooling are that I'm with my family and that I have time to do the things I enjoy doing; if I didn't home-school my Dad and I wouldn't be making our business which makes me happy and proud.
For me the only disadvantage of home-schooling is that we sometimes have arguments. It is important to understand that not all days will be perfect.
I used to come home from regular school very tired but now I'm in a much better mood. I like to chat with my family during our meal time. I also like to bake bread and desserts with my Mum. I love to be silly and crack jokes with my brother Tim :)
It's amazing how we play table tennis, go on daily hikes or on a trip whenever we feel like it. These things were never possible when I went to regular school.
